  1. Microphone Input Settings

I have called multiple customer support numbers and have had text chats with multiple employees but nothing has worked. I am on a Windows 10 desktop PC. It started when I wanted to talk in xbox party chat with my xbox friends on my PC, so i downloaded xbox and then my mic made a cackling noise. I changed my microphone input settings as instructed by some guy and it wouldn't save my changes. once i finally got the changes to save, the settings made my mic really quiet on everything which really sucked, and xbox still didnt work. also now when i try to change it back or even click the "restore to defaults" button it won't save my changes and i can't put my mic back to the original settings.

also voicemod (voice changer) doesn't work with the settings i have saved now (96000 hz) and i need either 44100 hz (default) or 48000 hz to work with real time audio or something idk

go to the bottom right of taskbar, right click the sound icon, go to open sound settings, and under input you should be able to click device properties, which will open up a little window. go all the way to the right under "advanced" and at the top (default format) you should be able to see what settings im talking about

plz help my mic is really quiet now

    :)

Static microphone recoding doesn't accept any input - Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

    • What is the model of the problematic Acer laptop?
    • Are you aware of any changes that happened on the computer prior to this issue?

If the mic input on the PC is mono, plugging it into the
Line In input of the sound card and selecting Line In as the
Default Device, should resolve the issue.

Note: Make sure the Line In device is not muted in
    Levels.

If it is distortion, lowering the microphone level and raising the master volume of the computer will fix the issue.

Meanwhile, I suggest you to try the troubleshooting steps listed in
Fix microphone problems and check if it works.

If the issue persists, update the BIOS, as this could also happen due to outdated BIOS. I recommend you to get in touch with the Acer support and get the latest version of BIOS installed.

    Note:

Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from
the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Microphone Input Settings

All usb microphone inputs not working

So both my adapter for xlr to 3.5mm jack input and my newly purchased usb microphone are not recognised. I've tried updating the drivers, using different usb ports, uninstalling the drivers and letting windows do it manually. Every time though, it's listed as having issue's in device manager... Can some help?
