Windows 10: Microphone intermittent

Hello,Friends tell me that when I am in a party with them my microphone drops in and out very fast. As if some letters of words are missed because my microphone cuts in and out. These friends also tell me that it is fine on xbox.All help is appreciated.

microphone intermittently screws up

My microphone intermittently produces sound like I'm talking through a fan with some staticy sound added to it. I can fix the problem by going to my sound properties, disabling the microphone and re-enabling it again after waiting for a while.

What's the deal? Is this a driver issue? Could my sound card be dying? I've already reinstalled the drivers a bunch of times trying to get at another unrelated issue (no surround sound with my 5.1 set) so it wasn't a bad driver install. I know it's not my microphone because this has happened a bunch of times with What U Hear as well.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

Method 1: I suggest you to set microphone as default device and check.

• 
  Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices"
  
• 
  Right click on the blank space in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
  
• 
  Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
  
• 
  Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
  
• 
  Click Apply and OK.
  

Step 2: Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.

  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled. Follow the steps given to check that:
  
• 
  Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.
  
• 
  Now, Right Click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.
  
• 
  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.
  

And also update the audio drivers from the manufacturer web site and install.
