Windows 10: Microphone is extremely quiet

Hello. A few weeks ago, my microphone just decided to stop working properly. At the same time I also got issues with my sound. Both were extremely quiet and did not work properly. I managed to raise the sound on my laptop but my microphone didnt work until I uninstalled the sound driver and selected 'delete driver softward from device' and restarted. I was relieved at first but I noticed that people couldn't hear me in a meeting i was in the other day, and I checked and my microphone was back to being extremely weak, so once again i uninstalled the sound driver and restarted and it was fine. I just opened up my laptop after it had been shut down and the sound isn't working anymore. I think whenever my laptop dies, restarts or is shut down the microphone goes back to not working again. I really dont want to have keep uninstalling Realtek High Definition Audio everytime i start up my computer. If anyone knows how to stop it resetting everytime that would be a great help.

Microphone extremely quiet

So for some odd reason, microphone input is really quiet.

I'm using Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming as my board so the microphone is being plugged into that. I've tried putting microphone boost and levels to 100% but the input is still really really quiet, if you're lucky you can hear a whisper if you're shouting down the mic.

I've tested the mic on other devices like my phone and it works fine but for some odd reason my desktop isn't being nice about it.

This is darn annoying and a massive inconvenience.

Things I've tried -
Uninstalled realtek and re-installed the latest driver
Set microphone boost and levels to max
Tested with 'Disable all sound effects' on and off

I'm out of luck at this point and I'm not entirely sure where to go from this. I'd love to get this fixed so some advice/help would be appreciated, thank you.

 

My USB Headset microphone is extremely quiet.

The setting that the website is suggesting to turn on is already turned on. And my headset is detected, it's just extremely quiet. I think it's the drivers to be honest, but since no drivers (from the manufacturer) exist, I don't know what to do.

This is the page I visited to look for the drivers. They don't exist there. I'm not sure if there's a way to replace the Microsoft driver with another generic driver, but that'd be nice.

 

Windows 10 Game DVR: Microphone is way too quiet

If you've already adjusted the volume and boost for your microphone and it's still too quiet, it could be a driver issue.

I'd recommend reinstalling the microphone drivers through Device Manager. Here are the steps:

- Press Windows Key+X and choose Device Manager.

- Find your microphone in the list.

- Right-click it and choose Update Driver.

- If that doesn't work, try uninstalling it and then scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.

If it's still too quiet, test to see if the same problem occurs on another PC if you have one available.
