  1. Microphone is not sensitive - Realtek High Definition Audio

I've had this problem for several days now, it started after I upgraded my RAM and added an SSD. I reinstalled the OS in order to move it from my old HDD to my new SSD. My laptop is ASUS ROG Scar Edition GL503VD, and I am using Logitech G Pro Headset that comes with a mic.

I usually use Discord to communicate with my friends. After upgrading my laptop, Discord didn't quite catch my voice and I had to level up the voice sensitivity to 99dB and my voice still sounded so quiet. I assumed there was something missing within the audio driver so I checked and I was right. The Realtek Audio Driver wasn't installed so I went to ASUS Download Centre to download the audio driver for my laptop. But it still didn't solve the problem. I browsed for the latest Realtek driver and I downloaded one from their website which was Realtek High Definition Audio Codec R2.82 version. After installing it my mic worked fine like before I upgraded my laptop, but some time after a few boots, my mic produced weird annoying noises and my voice sounded like as if I was deep down in the ocean. I uninstalled and reinstalled the same driver R2.82, but again after a few boots that same problem came up again so I did what I did over again. This time it didn't solve my problem. So I went to browse for another Realtek driver from some tech forums. I installed the R2.81 version. This driver version did solve the weird noises problem but my mic once again was not sensitive even though I leveled up the mic to 100 and +20dB, Discord still couldn't catch my voice nor could the windows voice recognition. I thought it was actually my Logitech mic, I tested on my brother's Dell laptop and it worked fine. I went to find more Realtek drivers, I reinstalled them but still they did not solve my problem. The Realtek driver that is currently installed now is the 8816 version driver.

I am very restless I can't find the solution to this on the internet. Please help me.

    :)

  2. Realtek High Definition Audio not working

First of all, the Realtek High Definition Audio Device did not automatically reinstall after uninstalling and rebooting. I had to go into Add Legacy Software and select it to install. The Device Manager crashed while installing it, which it always does.
Upon starting it up again, the Device is there, but with a warning sign next to it indicating it is not functional.

Second of all, when I did the rest of the steps, the Driver Manager told me specifically that the drivers for Realtek High Definition Audio Device are up to date.

Thank you for trying to help so far btw

  3. Realtek High Definition Audio

Download a newer version of the driver from the realtek website, install it and check if the sound comes back.

    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

If not, uninstall the realtek Driver by:

    • Open device manager
    • Sound Video and Game controllers
    • Right click realtek high definition audio device and select uninstall driver software
    • Make sure the checkbox "Delete the device software for this device is checked"
Check if it helps.Do reply back with the results.
