    Microphone not plugged in error even though it is plugged in


    So basically my microphone is not working. My microphone is connected to my earphones which do work since ive tried using my mic on my laptop so im guessing the problem is my pc, my audio output works but my mic does not. Ive tried all possible solutions: updating my driver- to which it says its already been updated, tried uninstalling and reinstalling my realtek headset. My mic previously worked with my computer but a few days ago my pc crashed and wouldnt turn on i took it to the shops to get it repaired and it is now on windows 11 same as before however my mic seems to have stopped workin

    My Microphone was fine until i decided to clean up my room, after that i plugged it back in and it did not work. My computer said it wasn't plugged it and it is, help would be appreciated

    Hi and welcome!

    You may go to Control panel / Sound => Recording tab, and see if it's disabled.

    Microphone not working when plugged in

    When I plug my headset into my computer running windows 10 home, the microphone doesn't work, however when it is unplugged the microphone does work. I've checked if the cable is broken, and it isn't as the microphone works on all my other devices. I've run
    the troubleshooter for the microphone, and it says that it can not find the issue. When the headset is plugged in and unplugged the computer still recognises both the microphone and speaker as "Realtek (R) Audio"

    Does anyone have any suggestions that I can do to fix this?
