Windows 10: Microphone not working win 10 PC

Hi guys, in a need of help. I just got a gaming headset (with microphone) and for some reason the microphone doesn't work. I followed some instructions ie: set device as default, made sure the audio not muted etc with no luck. The headset is working fine as I tested the mic on other devices. I have desk microphone that I usually used and it works fine.

I just found that my desk microphone is the one picking up the voice eventhough not set as default. When I disable the desk microphone, the headset mic still not picking up the voice (as picture). Can someone help? Many thanks

External microphone does not work

The issue could be because of the microphone being in a disabled state. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works:

• Open Control Panel and categorize to view by
  Small Icons.
  
• Click on Speech Recognition and navigate to
  Advanced Speech Options > Microphone > Advanced
  
• Check Real Conexant HD Audio, save the changes and exit
  Control Panel.
  
• Restart the machine to see if the microphone works.

Windows 10 No microphone will work

Sorry about the long response time. Work sucks sometime.

I tried both a headset microphone and the usb microphone on another Windows 10 computer. It did not pick up any microphone signal and was showing the same emulated sound output as I noted before.

That is what is really bothering me. Both computers detect the microphones, yet output is being directed to them as well as any plugged in speaker/headphone.

I suggest you to run the microphone troubleshooter by following the steps below:

• Type “Troubleshooter” in the search box and press Enter.
• Click on ‘View All’ on the top left corner.
• Click on “Recording Audio” from the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.
