Windows 10: Microphone uses desktop audio instead of my voice.

All of my audio including people's voices are playing through my microphone on discord, teamspeak, game chat etc. and I can't seem to fix it. Its not my microphone because when I mute my mic on my headset the audio still plays. I have tried disabling all of the other audio devices besides my headset and mic, and have even tried plugging them into the back ports. I have tried everything I see online about it but it doesn't fix it, is there anything I am missing? and no, the listen to this device box is not ticked.

Cortana has no voice

I suggest you to follow the methods given below and check if it helps.



Method 1: Setup Mic

Step 1: Set up Mic in Control Panel.

1. Type Set up Mic in Cortana's search bar.

2. Follow the on screen instructions.



Step 2: Verify Speech settings.

1. Go to Settings >
Time and Language >
Speech.

2. In the Microphone section, click Get Started, if no Microphone is detected.



Method 2: I suggest you to update the Audio drivers on your device and check if it helps.

• 
  Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand Audio inputs and outputs, right click on High Definition Audio Device and click on Update driver software.
  
• 
  Restart.

Voice Over Microphone Sometimes Unintelligible

Go to Settings > System > Sound. Scroll down, under 'Input' click on 'device properties' to adjust it.

1. Are you aware of any changes being made to the PC?
   
2. Which build version of Windows 10 you are using currently?
   
3. What is the make and model of the PC?
   
4. Have you tried using a different headset?
   
5. Did you try using the Microphone on a different PC?
   

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.



Method 1:



Try running the Microphone troubleshooter.

1. Go to Settings >
   Update & security > Troubleshoot.
   
2. Under Find and fix problems look for
   Recoding Audio.
   
3. Click on Recording Audio and click
   Run the troubleshooter.
   
4. Follow the on screen instructions.
   

Method 2:



Try changing the accessibility settings of Microphone. Refer the article

Fix microphone problems.
