Windows 10: MicroSD Card drive cant open and cant format

It's what my Raspberry Pi's use as the hard drive. I don't have much choice but to buy Micro SD cards for them. And just to keep me on my toes, some model Pi's are click lock and some are friction lock card slots. Most of my readers are for full sized cards so I end up using a Micro SD to SD adapter. My camera on the other hand uses a full sized SD card.

 

I have about a dozen Micro SD cards on the go and knock on wood, no failures yet. And some have been reimaged many many times. Plus, as I mentioned above, most are being used as the boot drive and see a good number of reads and writes. I buy good quality name brand class 10 cards from reputable sources. That's one thing I won't buy on e-bay etc. To many fakes etc. Most of mine are SanDisk Ultra's.

 

Its not showing secure erase option.




Furthermore, I have one more 4GB card and its in RAW format right now. I tried to format and I got this error.

Not sure what to do about RAW. Can you revive it using MiniTool Partition Wizard?

I do believe RAW means it has no partitions on it. If its unpartitioned you can't format it. You have to create a partition, then format that partition.

 

Not working and its still on RAW.

 

If you can't create a new partition on it, then it's probably dead too.

 

I fixed the Samsung SD Card with secure cleaning from CCleaner and its working but other 2 cards I think they are dead.

1. ADATA 64 GB
2. Random 4 GB

 

Well, at least you got one of the three. *Smile

 

I think I can fix Random 4GB card aswell by giving one more chance through CMD.
