Windows 10: Microsft Ultimate Word Games won't connect to the cloud

I'm running Windows 10 on a DELL Inspiron 5000 laptop. I'm having trouble with Microsoft Ultimate Word Games (MUWG). It's stopped connecting to the cloud, so I can't keep track of the levels. So far, I've done the following, all to no avail:

• Checked for updates to UMWG;
• Checked for and installed Windows system updates;
• Updated my antivirus (Avira);
• Uninstalled and reinstalled MUWG

Since MUWG (and only MUWG) is connecting to the cloud only sporadically, I thought there might be a problem with MUWG and Windows Firewall, but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot that (and I certainly don't how to fix any problems I might find. This problem has been going on for months, if not years, so I'm wondering if (1) anyone has solved this, and if so, how; and (2) if the answer to (1) is "no," how do I troubleshoot Windows Firewall (assuming I'm not barking up the wrong tree here)?


(BTW, I had the same problem on a Lenovo laptop, so I don't think it's hardware-related.)


Any help in laying this vampire to permanent rest would be greatly appreciated.

Microsoft Ultimate Word Games won't connect to cloud

I run Windows 10 (upgrade from 8.1) on a Lenovo G7oo laptop. For the last couple of weeks, Microsoft Ultimate Word Games (MUWG) doesn't connect to the cloud. Every time I run the app, I get a "We can't connect to the cloud right now. Please try again later."
message and have to turn cloud sharing off to pla. I don't have this problem with Microsoft Mahjong, Microsoft Minesweeper or Microsoft Solitaire Collection. I asked for help at the Feedback Hub, but have heard nothing. How do I get MUWG to connect to the
cloud?

Lost cloud data ultimate word games

there was a snag this morning when opening Microsoft Ultimate Word Games. Now I have lost almost a year of cloud data. I reinstalled/rebooted ,but everything is set back to level 1.

How to I get my cloud data sync back?
