    Microsoft Account Confusion

When I first setup my PC I used my MS account to login. The account name was an email address from cox.net. However shortly thereafter I changed to a local account. A few months ago I changed the account name to a Gmail address in anticipation of changing my internet provider but I've continued using a local account to login to windows, I've never used the Gmail login name.

Today I wanted to look at the extensions that were available for Edge, so I needed to sign into the Store but the login box was prepopulated with the old account name from cox.net. I assume that I should go to setting, select Email & App Accounts and select the add an account button and add the MS account that uses my Gmail name, correct?

After I do then then how can a delete the old, inactive account with the cox.net user name?

I think my error is confusing the account name which may or may not be an email address with the actual email address used for communication about the account, correct?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

Then contact them. I told you how to do this so do it now and don't quit until they fix your problem. There's nothing more I can do, so you're wasting time replying to me when you should be focusing on them as Office 365 must reply to subscribers with
    issues like yours. Period.

What change in Security did you make? That looks like the period they give to change your mind about deleting your Microsoft Account. Is that what you did?

You found the solution so why not apply the fix exactly as printed in it?

Thanks very much for your reply. I try this in the morning. Watching the Olympics opening ceremonies now. What a production.
btw, I continue to be amazed by the number and quality of the tutorials that have been produced by you and the other members. What a huge effort this must be to not only produce them but to keep them updated. Hats off to all!

OK I finally got it. My primary alias was the gmail address so I added the cox.net email as an alias then I made it the primary alias and my MS Accont on my PC works as it should. Thanks.
