Ok, first off - I am a Cybersecurity Expert and I can promise you, my password did not change, I do not have the Nearby Devices checked as yes, or any other thing I found while looking at the forums. And, I do NOT want to use a single sign-on for everything that Microsoft owns because that is NOT SAFE. As a cybersecurity expert, I tell people NOT to do that because it is way too easy for someone to hack into the account. Really Microsoft? How is it that Microsoft is always smarter than the rest of us who break our back trying to keep people safe online so that you can tell them to do something really unsafe?

Now, would you like to tell me how to get these situations fixed by Microsoft's standards because this constant irritation of update nonsense that seems to take over everything like my touchpad, my account needing to be fixed, the fact that Microsoft updates try to wipe out any other security protocols I have, and I could go on and on and on?

What I need help with is how to turn off Microsoft's over-reaching and over-bearing "we are smarter than everyone, so we will just hijack your entire computer" thing. Any suggestions for that? I'm tired of fighting Microsoft every single time there is an update. Any legitimate help for that?

    :)

  2. Windows 8 with 2 Microsoft accounts?

Yea, I would create a local account and just use your school account to login to Outlook and Onedrive.

    Edit:

Here switch between local and microsoft account.

Windows 8 with 2 Microsoft accounts?

I was thinking of doing that, but it will be a PITA setting everything up on the 2nd account again. I might go that way and just spend the time getting the account in order.

The problem is, I would need to switch at the start of every day. Extra reset and waiting for the settings to be applied etc. Also, I'm not sure whether one drive would be maintained after switching back to a local account. I wouldn't want to have to re-sync every time I logged in. I may have to do some testing to see if onedrive is maintained after switching back to a local account.
