Windows 10: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver dims brightness on dell vostro when...

I'm having two problems due to Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver.

• It dims the light when the charger is unplugged. It becomes hard to read stuff and stare on a dim screen for hours.
• When I disable it, everything seems to be fine, but disabling it also create problems, it removes the battery icon in the taskbar.

Please someone solve this issue.

What is the model number of the device?



I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and let us know if that helps.



Method 1

Disable the Adaptive Brightness to Fix Dim Screen in Windows 10

1. Click on Start, and then enter
   Power Options into the search field.
   
2. Select Power Options from the list
   
3. Click on Change plan settings link next to the already selected plan.
   
4. Click on Change advanced power settings link, and the Power Options window will appear.
   
5. Scroll down to the Display Brightness option, put 100% in
   On Battery and keep plugged in 100% as well.
   
6. Browse down to Dimmed Display Brightness, and do the same as mentioned in step 5.
   
7. Scroll down further to
   Enable adaptive brightness, and then put both On Battery and Plugged in to Off
   

Method 2

Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method battery is a driver that is responsible for the communication between your laptop battery and Windows system. We would recommend you not to uninstall the driver. However, since your

Brightness problem due to Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Method Battery driver

Hello. I have a Lenovo PC and there is a problem with the brightness. My laptop suddenly goes dim even if the brightness is set high and the battery plan is the bright screen plan. This happens when my laptop is not plugged in.

• When the laptop is plugged in, the brightness problem disappears. On unplugging again, the problem comes back.
• It happens even when the battery level is high.
  
• The problem is temporarily fixed by restarting the laptop. But the issue recurs.
• When I disabled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Method Battery driver, the brightness is restored. But it returns to the original state when the driver is enabled.

I do need the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Method Battery driver, but this problem is annoying, especially when my charger is not around and the screen goes
very dim.

Please post a solution for this problem. The same problem was posted by a user with a HP laptop and the solution posted asked the user to check with HP Customer Support. But I feel its a problem with the driver or the power management of Windows.
