Microsoft announces new features for Windows 10’s Cortana

Microsoft at Build 2018 announced a lot of tools to synchronize all your work between devices so that you can start from one device and resume from another. Windows Timeline is the best example to this. With Timeline, the user will be able to see all the tasks which he has done across all his devices with the touch of a button on the taskbar. All the tasks will be presented in chronological order so that he can resume whichever task he wants.

A user will have a lot of tasks done across all his devices. But the number of times he opened a specific app or a webpage will be different from other apps and web pages. Microsoft has a long-term plan for making Windows an intelligent operating system and Cortana will spread out into the entire operating system to make the operating system intelligent.

Windows Timeline is one of the best features in Windows 10 April 2018 update. At Build 2018 conference, Microsoft has announced that Cortana will be able to see your Timeline, which enables Cortana to suggest you apps and websites based on your usage.

Once you open Timeline in your Windows 10 PC, all the tasks you have done will be available for you to choose. In addition to this, Cortana will show a list of apps and web pages which will be based on the frequency of your usage of various apps and web pages. Other than the frequency of usage, Cortana will not show apps and web pages which you have already opened from any of the devices. Over time, Cortana will learn your usage pattern; she would understand which apps and websites you use at a particular time and based on these inputs Cortana will be able to suggest you with apps and websites as soon as you open the Windows Timeline.

This is a great news for Windows users as Cortana now becomes more intelligent and more personal. This is also the first step in making Windows 10 an intelligent operating system by weaving Cortana throughout the operating system.
