Windows 10: Microsoft Applications Not Working

Hello and thanks in advance for taking the time to look at this.

For the past few months none of my Microsoft applications have worked. They are grayed out and will not launch, including the Windows Store. I have tried repairing them under "add and remove programs", running commands such as SFXScannow (if I remember correctly) and many, many other Run and Command lines from articles online with similar issues. I also used the MediaCreationTool, on a separate computer, to create a USB to run a Repair. I was hoping to keep my saved games, screenshots, and so on. Most recently I launched "add and remove programs" and noticed that all of my Microsoft applications have an @ in front of them. I have attached a couple of screenshots.

I have been using my gaming PC less over the last year so I am unsure which Windows Update I think caused my issue and I have probably made the issue worse by trying to fix it myself and google.

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

• Type “Programs and Features” in the search box and press Enter.
• Check if Microsoft Office application is listed in the list of installed applications.
• If it is listed, then navigate to This PC>Local disc (C>Windows.old.
• Check if the Office application is present there.
• If still not found, then suggest you to install the application using the installation media.
