Windows 10: MIcrosoft Camera not detecting my camera.

Hello everyone!

I have a dell inspiron 545s pc which I upgraded to windows 8. But i was not able to use store and other Microsoft apps so I upgraded my pc to windows 10.All theapps work fine except the camera app. I want to use the Microsoft Camera application but it is not detecting my external webcam which i have plugged in through usb. I am able to use my camera in video conferencing but the Camera app would not detect it.

How can I make my computer detect my integrated camera?

Not even the default windows 10 camera app can detect my laptop camera. I've looked online and they suggested checking device manager, but my camera didn't show up there either. Here's my computer hardware:
My computer specs. I have an msi laptop, but unfortunately, I don't know what the model number is because it isn't written anywhere on the laptop.

 

Change the camera that the Windows 10 camera app uses.

Unintuitively, the icon in the upper left that looks like it's meant to switch between your front and back camera will also cycle through your other attached cameras. At least, this worked for me on a Surface Pro 4 (front and rear camera) with a USB Microsoft LifeCam attached. The Camera application's version is listed as 2018.227.30.1000.
