I like trying out new things..but at least in my case, one of my favorite pieces of software: #1 Password Manager, Vault, & Digital Wallet App | LastPass doesn't work very well with IE 11 that's included with windows 10 tech. preview build # 9926, it seems to work normally though when I'm using firefox.

There are a number of websites that don't work or are not compatible with IE and they only work in FF and/or Chrome.

Quite often they work if you click on "Reload in compatibility mode" under the frown button up in the top right of IE.

Not every time. When I took a class on Corsera the coding tool would not work in IE but only in FF or Chrome.

I got tired of this crap back in the 90s with IE and Netscape, each school designing their websites so they wouldn't work with the other. Bunch of childish BS.

    Now its back again. *Mad

Websites are more than just HTML. *Wink OH and in the situation that I pointed out I have no reason why I(we) couldn't use IE for the class it's just that the changes needed to make the code testing and grading tools would have required a lot of tweaking to work in IE and the staff for the class didn't want to put in that much effort. It was easier to have the class use FF or Chrome.

I have both FF (ver. 36) and Chrome (ver. 40) installed and both work very well with LastPass. Chrome is my default browser. I use IE-11 infrequently but LastPass also works fine without any issues so far.

  10. Since there is no enforcement, "standard" compliance is voluntary and as a result, companies just do whatever they like.

Internet Explorer has been seriously broken in Win 10 since the first build I tried (second release). It appears that no effort is being, or will be expended on fixing it. This 'Spartan' browser would no doubt be why, as MS is apparently killing-off IE for the final release of Win 10.

Anyway, after being an IE user and staunch advocate since Win 7, I gave up in frustration with it recently and installed Opera for no other reason than that I use the mobile version on my Windows phone. I hadn't used the desktop version since the days of XP and IE6, so didn't know quite what to expect.

The upshot is that, after familiarising myself with it for a while, it's rapidly become my favorite browser, and is now the default (I also use Firefox and TOR). It's fast, stable, has a small footprint, and has some very useful features and extensions. And it doesn't crash or lock up every ten minutes or less.

'Spartan' would need to be anything but, if it wants to entice me back from Opera.

I don't see what all the fuss is about a new browser. I guess I'll just wait and see. I'll probably still use Chrome or Firefox because they have the add ons I need.

For me, at least, it's a new option that I can get from Windows and possibly not have to install a third party browser anymore. Now that would be nice and the idea of testing it will be fun.
