    Hello allI've seen similar questions around on various sites including this one, no solution worked so far.My Microsoft designers keyboard suddenly stopped working. It showed paired status but keys were not recognized. This happened before once. I sort of solved it by pairing it on another free channel it has 3. Since I'm out of the free channels now 1st was original pairing, 2nd my android phone, 3rd the new pairing I've removed the device from windows setting in order to pair it again. The keyboard led is blinking in three rabid blinks followed by a break and then continues again. This i

  2. Can pair new Microsoft Designer Bluetooth keyboard - but not connect

    Hi

    I just bought a new Microsoft Designer Bluetooth desktop keyboard to use with my Dell XPS 15 9530.

    I'm running Windows 10 and I'm able to pair the keyboard by going to settings and adding and adding a new bluetooth device. It prompts me to type in the passkey on the keyboard and press enter.

    After doing so, the device is added to the device list and after (very briefly) being listed as "Connected" it switches to be listed as "Paired".

    In this state, the keyboard doesn't respond to any input - even after power cycling it. The keyboard even keeps blinking in the Esc-key as if it's still ready to pair.

    I've reset the Bluetooth adapter, run the troubleshooter and made sure that all of my drivers are up to date. Nothing helps.

    Any good suggestions?

    Design keyboard stops working intermittently

    Hi,

    My Design keyboard is having trouble and stops working intermittently, mostly after I've left it alone for a bit. I'd like to try and reset it if possible as the problems started after I paired it with a second computer. That computer is packed in a box
    in storage 200m away with no power, so I don't think it's interfering with the connection.

    Once the problem happens, the keyboard is listed as connected in the devices page of settings. If I remove the batteries the status changes to Paired and goes back to Connected when I put them back in, but the only thing I've found that gets it working again
    is removing the device and adding it as a bluetooth device again. Restarting the computer does not help.

    I have a second set of Deisgn keyboard and mouse I use at work that functions perfectly, so I do not think the problem is with my bluetooth driver or settings. Also I'm not having this issue with the mouse.

    Things I've tried:

    Replace batteries

    Update drivers for Bluetooth unit, both from Windows update, from Intel and from HP

    Remove all paired bluetooth devices, set environment variable devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1, go into device manager and remove all non-present HID, keyboard and mouse-devices including removing the drivers.

    Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Center (device not supported)

    Changing the Power saving settings on my Bluetooth device to not let windows turn it off to save power

    Remove batteries for a few days and then try again

    Pair it to a second computer = same problem there. Both computers running Windows 10 x64 Enterprise 1709 with all updates

    So, any ideas? Otherwise I guess I'm going to have to try and explain to the retailer that the keyboard stops working sometimes and that it's a keyboard issue. But since it works great when you pair it and as long as you don't leave it alone that might

    Microsoft Designer Keyboard HotKeys NOT working

    Hi Andrzej,

    If the Hotkeys on your Microsoft Designer Keyboard don't work, it is possible that the Human Interface Device Access service on your Surface was stopped. Make sure that the service is set to automatic. To do that, follow these steps:

    • Type Services in the search box. Click on Services
    • In the list of services in the Details pane, double-click HID Human Interface Service, and then make sure that the Startup type is set to Automatic.

    If the Hotkeys still won't work, try to create a new local user account and test if the "special keys" will work. If you're a Windows 10 user, refer to this link
    on how to create a local user.

    You may also test the keyboard with a different computer. If the keyboard does not work correctly with the other computer, this could be a possible hardware issue.
