Windows 10: Microsoft DVD player blocks W/10 Memory Integrity from being activated

A driver in the Microsoft DVD player I paid for is preventing activation of Memory Integrity, even when the DVD player is disabled. The driver in question is PxHelp64 version 3.0.83.0 This is a driver from Sonic Solutions. The larger program is apparently PxHlpa64.sys. There is no update that I can find: A search for an update in Windows Update yielded nothing newer. The ultimate parent of Sosio now seems to be TiVo, and I could find nothing there. [Rovi apparently bought Sonic Solutions, and then TiVo, whose name they adpted in preference to Rovi].


Is there a work-around for this? For example, does the free DVD player in the MS Store create the same problem?


If I uninstall the MS DVD player, will I be able to reinstall it?

Microsoft rolls out Windows DVD Player for Windows 10 users


I have the DVD player, it is Windows DVD Player and located in the W section of the All Apps list. I tested with a DVD movie I downloaded to a disc from Turner Classic Movies, worked good. Seems I got it along with the Win10 Home Upgrade.

Windows DVD Player FUBAR

In order to assist you better could you please confirm whether you're using the Windows 10 DVD player App or Windows Media Player (DVD).

I suggest you to update the drivers from the Device Manager and see if this helps. Follow the steps below to do the same:

• Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand the DVD/CD ROM Drives.
• Right-click on the mentioned drive and click on Properties.
• Go to Drivers Tab and click on Update.
• Restart the computer and check.
