Makes sense.. It's a Win10 app and there is no need to port it over for any other OS.

'not responding' seems to happen frequently with Edge.

You may follow the below instructions to check if it helps to fix the issue with Edge. However if you want to use Internet Explorer, you may use it and check if you face the same issue.

Please answer the below questions to assist you better.

1. Did you make any software changes to the computer prior to this issue?

2. Did you install all the updates?

3. Is this issue specific to accessing one particular website OR it occurs randomly?

You can clear browsing data on edge and check if that helps.

In Microsoft Edge, go to More Actions (…) > Settings, and under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear, and then select the check box (es) for the information you want to clear.

Disclaimer: When you clear browsing data, all the Auto fill data, Browsing history, User credentials, Bookmarks, etc., related to Microsoft Edge will be lost.

You may try the suggestion given by Harkanwar Singh about a similar issue and check if it helps.

Both Edge and Chrome when going to google.com/youtube shows black diamonds with question marks ���

Have you tried clearing cache and cookies of both browsers? What about scan and check if there's malware that affects the performance of the browsers?

And for Edge, Open Microsoft Edge Browser and click on the Hub icon (three horizontal lines at top bar) then Settings, Clear browsing data..

 

Like they did with office.

 

Office is/was will be a cash maker for MS.. why port that for any other OS.. nope never going to happen.
