Windows 10: Microsoft Edge Invisible when attempted to unpin

With the new update, Microsoft Edge was automatically put onto my taskbar. I unpinned it, but once I did so, I opened a new program, only to realize there was an odd space



Right clicking this space made it show that somehow, Microsoft Edge was still there? It seems like the Icon simply went transparent instead of being removed from my taskbar



Any idea of what's going on here? For the time I have moved this invisible icon to the far right, making it unnoticeable, but it's still bothersome to know that it is not removed.

Invisible taskbar icons and cannot Unpin from taskbar

I have 2 apps (E-Mail and Edge) in taskbar that doesn't shows icons. It is so annoying that I cannot even Unpin from taskbar.

I have done following without helping:

* Uninstalled and Installed the app again
* Unpined from Startmenu
* Deleted %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\*
* Deleted HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband
* Killed explorer.exe

Mouse over Edge




Right click Edge or E-mail. Its not even show the rest of the popup menu. Just the Unpin menu and it doesn't even work.

 

Invisible Edge Icons on Windows 10 Taskbar

I just recently upgraded to Windows 10, and after unpinning everything from the new Taskbar (minus what I wanted to pin) I discovered that I have two invisible Microsoft Edge icons still pinned there. All attempts to remove them have failed. When I right-click
on them I have the option to pin them again, which creates an actual Microsoft Edge icon which I can then unpin, but the two invisible icons stay there. I just want to get rid of those two invisible icons so that there's not some odd blank space on my bar.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
