  1. Microsoft Family Activity Reporting and History not staying turned on

    Hi,

In the Microsoft Family I created, I am the organizer and there are 3 members. When I turn on Activity Reporting and History on the Member's site, it shows that it's on, but when I switch accounts to my account, it says, "This family member has turned off activity reporting, which is needed to set app limits. If they want to turn it on, they'll need to sign in, find their name in family roster, select Manage permissions, then switch on Activity reporting and history." But, I've already turned it on. Not sure why it's turning off on it's own and how to override it?

    Thanks,

    Sharie

    :)

  2. Family activity report

    Hi Javier,

There are ways on how to manage activity reporting for your child. To configure your account settings, here are the steps:

    • Go to the account.microsoft.com/family site at Microsoft on any PC
    • Then sign-in
    • Open Settings
    • Tap on the Accounts icon
    • Click on Family and other users on the left side
    • Chose Manage family settings online
    • Check recent activity link for the child's account

Turn On and Manage Activity Reporting for Child

    • Click on Recent activity on the left side, and turn on Activity reporting.
    • Check or uncheck to Email weekly reports to me for what you want.
    • Under Web browsing, Apps and games etc., you can view your child's recent activity for each one, tap on Change settings
    • Then set allowed times to manage them, and to block any apps and games.

To Turn Off Activity Reporting for your Child, just tap on Recent activity on the left side, and turn off Activity reporting on the right side.

Get back to us if the steps won't work.

Microsoft family restrictions stopped reporting activity.

    In reply to your questions

    1. The Family Safety monitoring and reporting activity is limited only to two (2) browsers which made by Microsoft. These are Microsoft
Edge and Internet Explorer 11. May we know if you have other browsers installed on your computer? Are you aware that your child has enough knowledge that can install third-party browsers?

-There are only two browsers installed Edge and Explorer.

-I am checking the history daily on the browsers and there is a lot of activity on the history. I know history can be deleted but at least the things not deleted should be showing on the activity report? right?

-The computer is up to date with updates.

-I am sure the child has enough knowledge but it seems that I get a request on my PC to download anything, ie, minecraft. I have control of the PC in question and check it daily for downloads. -Password/administrator are known by only me.

    2. To refresh this capability, we suggest that you turn off and turn on again the Activity reporting.

-I have turned off activity reporting and on again. I have removed the child from family and readded. I have refreshed the PC.

    3. Visit this link: See your
child's device use with activity reports
    for more information.

-I have done everything in the link you sent.

    3. Let us know if you have other concerns.

My concern is the activity reporting is not working when there is obvious activity on the history of both browsers. Even if there is a secret browser somewhere, the history on EDge and Explorer should show, right?

    Thank you
