Microsoft family Web browsing always blocked problem

    Hello,

I have been using Microsoft family as parental control for a while. It has been working fine. But as kids getting older, they start to find bugs in your system.

I used website control for my kids' account. I only allow some websites and checked "only allow these websites".

I allow some specific Youtube videos but not the whole youtube website. So they cannot go to Youtube.com by putting this in the address. However, I just found that, once I allowed one youtube video, they can watch that video and from there, they can just go to the Youtube main page and watch whatever they want to. I think this is a bug.

Is this just me or some bigger bug. Could you take a look?

    Thank you!

    :)

  2. Microsoft Family will not block Facebook

I am trying to prevent access to Facebook which uses https: When I try to block facebook in Microsoft Family Web browsing it changes https to http and facebook can still be accessed. Earlier posts regarding Microsoft Family suggested turning on only SSL
3.0 and TLS 1.0 but that makes no difference. Is there a way to block https sites?

  3. Microsoft Family will not block Facebook

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The current design of Family Safety web filtering is to block the exact name of the website that you added to your blocked list and it doesn't matter if they use http or https when accessing the website as long as the name of the
website is listed it will still be blocked by Family Safety.

Please provide additional information to help you better.

    1) Have you tried accessing the blocked website using either of these parameters http:// or https:// and see some difference?

    2) Are you managing the Family safety settings through the Family safety website or through the control panel?

    3) If you are using the website, what level of web filtering restrictions did you apply?

If the web filtering restriction level is set to ‘Warn on adult’, it will allow all websites but only shows a warning when an adult website is visited. I would suggest you to set the web filtering level to either ‘Online communication’
or ‘General interest’ or ‘Designed for Children’ filters which will block all adult website. Refer to these steps:

    a) Log into the Family safety website (https://familysafety.microsoft.com/
    ).

    b) Click on the child account and click on ‘Web filtering’ in the left pane.

    c) Click on “restriction level’ and choose the appropriate filter.

If you are managing Family safety through control panel, then follow these steps:

    a) Press Windows key + F, set the search filter to settings.

    b) Type ‘Family safety’ and click on the Family safety tile.

    c) Click on the child account and then click on the ‘Set web filtering’.

    d) Choose the appropriate filter.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.

Microsoft family Web browsing always blocked problem

    Win 10 Family Web browsing

    Hello all,

Finally, I have successfully created an child account on Windows 10, sure by using a Microsoft Account!!

I need the family control mainly to prevent my child from accessing web sites. I want to prevent all sites except few sites that I trust.

When I used to manage the settings online, and in the "Web browsing" section, after checking the "Block inappropriate sites", I can find two lists to fill; the allowed and block lists. The missing point is that I can't find a way to choose just to use the
    Allowed list.

According to "http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows-10/set-child-limits", there should be a check box named "Only see websites on the allowed list.". But really, there is nothing like this on the settings web site.

Dears Microsoft support, please don't reply to my question like robots by pasting links to anything related to Family settings. I have a specific question, and I already made chats with your customer care and after talking with three engineers I didn't get
    any answer.
