    Microsoft Flight Simulator low on memory problem.


    I have a copy of FSX and love the game. However, with addons to enhance the appearance of the game I get a message telling me I’m out of memory after a short while of flying, less than an hour and one half. I was told that this is because Flight Simulator is 32 bit and no matter how much RAM I have, the game will only recognize the first 4GB. My PC has 16GB of RAM, an i9 8950HK, six core processor. Also, the SSD is a 2TB Samsung 970 Pro NVMe and a Nvidia 1050 Ti 4GB video card. I have installed several US states that are photo real and I have left the HD water enhancement installed. I have also adjusted the settings within Flight Simulator to the lowest settings that still give me a good frame rate and realistic look. Is there no way around the 4GB limit? No utility to access RAM above 4GB? I’ve also stopped as much as I can from loading when my PC boots up. Many thanks to all, Blair... PS, my OS is Win 10 Pro..

    Microsoft Flight Simulator issue after Windows 10 Upgrade

    Hi Rahul,



    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.



    I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

    Refer the steps below to uninstall.

    • Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
    • Open programs and features.
    • In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
      Remove.


    Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



    Reinstall the Flight Simulator.



    Please reply to us if the issue still persist.

    I suggest you to refer the link below to download Microsoft flight simulator x and follow the steps to install in your PC.

    Follow the steps below on how to install Microsoft flight simulator xin compatibility mode:

    1. Download the Microsoft flight simulator xfrom the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

    2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

    3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

    4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

    5. Let the Microsoft flight simulator xinstall and then check the functionality.
