Windows 10: "Microsoft" folder in %localappdata% missing

Discus and support "Microsoft" folder in %localappdata% missing in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; I've been trying to access the "VisualStudio" folder that should be in the "Microsoft" folder and noticed that it doesn't exist.I've tried reinstalling...     "Microsoft" folder in %localappdata% missing


    I've been trying to access the "VisualStudio" folder that should be in the "Microsoft" folder and noticed that it doesn't exist.I've tried reinstalling Visual Studio many times already to no success. I'll probably just reinstall Windows but only if there aren't any other solutions.

    I understand that the quick access and recently oped files option are missing. We will assist you to resolve the issue.

    I suggest you to follow the steps given below and check if it helps to resolve the issue.


    • Open File explorer.
    • Click on View and then Options.
    • Choose Folder and search options.
    • Under General Tab and under Privacy, make sure to place a check mark on Show recently used files and recently used folder in Quick access.

    Weird %LocalAppData% Folder Names

    Using EVERYTHING search on exe_url, i get


    "Microsoft" folder in %localappdata% missing [​IMG]


    And pick one of the PatchMyPC folders, and expanding with Tree Size, they do all contain a config file.
