When I think back about it, I really don't remember having much issues with either XP or Windows 7. The biggest issue of 7 that I recall was trying to install SP3 when it first came out, other than that, I remember them as quite painless (unlike Windows 10).

Sorry I didn't read this thread earlier. I replaced a webcam on 1 pc thinking it was faulty. Maybe it wasn't really faulty at all? Too late now tho.

I very seldom use my webcam but when I saw the post the other day I figured I should test my Logitech, first went into Skype, tried it in the options, no problem, I opened windows 10 Camera and it worked fine also. Why mine should be any different I have no idea.

One of my Dell Notebooks with the AU also works with the Camera application and the login feature and will check others as I go, don't use Skype and didn't try it.

Just tried the camera app and my C920 works fine in that, the Logitech software is another story,

Looking for an alternative to Logitech's software for my C920 webcam - Windows 10 Forums

Several are having problems with it, even after trying the .reg fix it only partially works.

I think it's on both Logitech and Microsoft myself but it looks like Logitech is just going to let Microsoft try and fix it.

Likewise, seldom use my webcam but tried all out. Three webcams work, one fails. The three that work are HP portables. My one that fails is on a Dell All in one -- the soft ware opens to a black 'picture' and nothing more. On the newest build of Windows I also have working camera.

Well, Microsoft came thru - too late. I got a Windows Update to Microsoft Camera Microsoft LifeCam Studio today. Since camera wasn't working for three weeks, I replaced it with a Logitech Cam. Thanks Microsoft (NOT).
