Windows 10: Microsoft Hello

Hey

So I've got the problem that my PC asks me to give my password when I turn on the computer to use it. It was ok till today, now the windows wants me to give my password to Microsoft Hello for the faster login. After I add it, the windows tells me that it can't check the authentication data.

What do I do? Yesterday it was all right, I didn't even enable the Hello thing and now I can't use the computer.

I'll add the pics of the problem, sorry that it is not english, they're just to illustrate the problem.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

To resolve this camera issue for your Windows Hello, we suggest that you run Hardware and Device troubleshooter. Refer to the following steps:

• Click on 'search' and select 'settings' and type 'Troubleshooting' and select 'Troubleshooting'
• Click on 'Hardware and Sound' and select 'Hardware and 'Devices' and click on next to run the troubleshooter.

Microsoft Hello

Hi thanks for the suggestions.

My computer is running Norton anti virus software.

I have run the trouble shooter on hardware and devices and it didn't come up with anything. I have also checked that the camera is enabled for all apps.

When I turn on the computer (or after it has been sleeping) the windows hello screen comes up but it immediately says camera is not turned on and I need to log in using my pin - which works fine.

If I go into sign in options under tools, there is a message in red that says "Windows Hello is preventing some options from being shown," then further down it says that "Windows Hello isn't available on this device."

My Surface Pro is only a few months old and I have used face recognition for sign-in from new, up until yesterday when I installed the 2017-06 Windows update.
