Windows 10: Microsoft Life Cam 1080p HD Sensor not working in Windows 10

I have an HD Desktop that I had to reinstall Windows 10 on. I also have a Microsoft 1080p Life Cam HD Sensor, which was working previous to the reinstall of Windows 10. I hadn't used the camera in a while and just noticed it was not working and software/drivers no longer appear to be on my machine. How do I reinstall the software and/or drivers as I no longer have the original install disc? I did read some posts that people who had upgraded to Windows 10 could not use the Life Cam. Is there any truth to this?

An important point though: While there is an updated (Windows 10) driver for LifeCam Cinema, there is still only one software version and one driver available for the LifeCam HD-3000 (LifeCam Software Version 3.60 and Driver Version 5.20.102.0), regardless of which Windows OS one has.

Let’s try to update the cam driver manually and check if it helps. Follow the below step:

• 
  Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.
  
• 
  Expand “Imaging Device”.
  
• 
  Right click on the Cam device and select
  update.
  
• 
  Once update is done, restart the computer.
  

If the issue still persist try the below method provided.

I would recommend you to go to the below provided link and download the latest updated cam driver and installed it in compatibility mode and let us know the status. Follow the below steps:

• 
  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
  

If the issue still persist, I would suggest you to wait for some time until Microsoft does not
release the Microsoft life cam HD3000 driver.

Dear Microsoft, Do you have any plans to update this download file so that it works perfectly using Windows 10?

There's another issue involving installing Microsoft Life Cam HD 3000 to my PC running Windows 10 64-bit. It worked perfectly in Windows 7 - I used your Windows 8 installation drivers for a system running Windows 10. It was the most compatible available
driver I could find to run on Windows 10 64 bit. Just a short while during installation, a pop up error message would stop the installation. The error In your own words, shouldn't the Windows 8 drivers work inside Windows 10 64 bit? Please dont ask me to invest
in a new webcam when there's a Windows 8 driver available. Please visit this site & update the webcam driver to Windows 10. Thank you.
