Windows 10: Microsoft LifeCam HD 6000 Webcamera is not recognized

Hi.
1 year ago I bought this camera, and since then I didnt have any problems. I barely used the camera, I would say I used it once in a month. I actually used the camera yesterday and the day before too. But today something happened that I don't quite understand.

I was studying mathematics with my teacher, and suddenly the camera stopped working, showing a black image. I then tried to replug the webcam good old method which seemed to work, but only for a few minutes. After that nothing seemed to work. I tought the camera had overheated, but it wasn't hot, just slighty warmer.

I noticed that when I plug the camera in the usb port, it doesnt show the camera's full name as before Microsoft LifeCam HD Webcamera, just "WebCam".


I also tried to delete and reinstall the driver, but it didn't work either.

I honestly have no idea what happened to the camera and I'm despairingly looking for help.

Has this been resolve? I also have the same issue, My Lifecam HD-6000 does not work in Windows 10 - did Microsoft release a driver for this yet?
