  1. Microsoft Mail App and Shared Experiences Issue

    Greetings.

I received a notification, telling me that one of my Microsoft accounts needed "fixing" in the Shared Experiences section of the Settings app.

When I attempt to use the "Fix Now" button, a pop-up window appears as it has done in the past and I see the revolving circle of dots as it tries to connect to the server.

This window disappears and reappears, twice more, before it vanishes completely. The issue remains as it does not connect.

Also, the Microsoft Mail app has been uninstalled I tried this as a similar issue was ocurring in that app and I assumed that was related to the first issue, but will not reinstall from the app store. Symptoms are: Locate the Mail and Calendar app in the MS Store app- Click the "Get" button - receive another spinning circle of dots - no download of the app.

I have tried scanning system files for missing or corrupt files Run: sfc /scannow with nothing found. The system has been rebooted several times and is running WIndows 10 PRO Version 1909, which is fully updated HDD checked and is regularly defragmented. I have also signed in to my Microsoft account, using the same details as my computers MS account. Currently, because of the issues with the Mail app and the Shared Experiences "Fix", visiting the website is the only way that I can access my mail.. which is not ideal.

Can anyone offer a solution, please?

    Shared Experiences

    Hi,

Shared Experiences allow you to start a task on one device and finish it on another, or easily set up a remote control or other companion apps on a smartphone. If you don’t want to use the feature, we suggest that you disable it. Kindly follow these steps
    below:

    • Click
      Start.
    • Select
      Settings.
    • Click
      System.
    • Select the Shared experiences link on the left-hand side. Here you will see a switch that lets you toggle the Share across devices feature to the On or Off position.
    • Enable it then restart your computer.
    • Go again to Shared Experiences in Settings app, and disable it completely.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Microsoft Mail App and Shared Experiences Issue :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

    Hey Shawn,
I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
