Windows 10: Microsoft mail groups

How do I get Microsoft mail to recognize my gmail groups ? or how do I set up groups in Microsoft Mail?

Group Contacts in Windows 10 mail

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

The ‘Mail’ and ‘People’ app work together. Currently the option to create a ‘Group’ in Mail or ‘People’ is unavailable.

I would suggest you to check with the workaround below and see it that helps you.

Sending ‘Group’ email through the ‘People’ app:

1. Add a contact in ‘People’ app with the email section containing all the email addresses that you wish to send the email to, be sure to separate the email addresses with a semi-colon between each of them and no spaces.
   
2. In the ‘Name’ section, you may enter the ‘Group’ name. Click on the ‘Save’ icon in the top right corner.
   
3. The ‘Group’ will now be added to the list of contacts. Select the ‘Group’ and click on the ‘Email Personal’ section.
   
4. You will be prompted to choose an application, select the ‘Mail’ app and click on ‘Ok’.
   
5. The ‘Mail’ app will open will open with all the email addresses that was added under that name as recipients

Group Mailing Lists in Windows 10

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

You won’t be able to create distribution list using Windows Mail app. To do more advanced features you need an email client like Windows Live mail or Microsoft Office Outlook.

However, you may create the group in
online People
(associated with Outlook.com email). Once it is in online People, it syncs to the People app.

You may refer the suggestion provided by “Pinaki Mohanty replied on January 20, 2013” from this thread and check if it helps.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
