Windows 10: Microsoft Mail Version 16005.13228.41011.0 on my PC has stopped working!

Sometime yesterday evening, Oct 27th, my email application on my Windows 10 PC stopped working, mail I had sent was found sitting in the Outbox!! I use gmail and am able to login to gmail fine to see my email, it's just not getting to my mail on my PC any longer! What could have caused this? Nothing changed on my PC that I'm aware of although there could have been a Microsoft update. Thank you. Jane Stewart

Your account settings are out of date - Mail App Error

I have been having this problem for weeks, ever since Microsoft did an update. I have followed all the trouble shooting steps mentioned. I have removed the mail app and reloaded. I get this error message sometimes 15 times a day on both my email accounts
that I have linked. The mail app version 16005 13110 41006 0

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Microsoft Edge has stopped woorking

There may be a number of reasons why suddenly Edge would stop working. The first troubleshooting step that we can try is to run the troubleshooter for Windows apps. Check out

If the above step won't work, we also suggest resetting Edge. For this, follow the steps below:

• Close Microsoft Edge browser.
• On the Cortana search bar, type Default App settings.
• Click on Microsoft Edge (the list may not include Edge if your operating system is not on Creators Update.)
• Under Microsoft Edge, click Advanced options.
• Click the Reset button and confirm.
• Restart your PC.

Note: Your PC must be updated to the latest version of Windows for this troubleshooter.
