!!!!!!!!! (Although I don't see how excessive punctuation is truly productive here, Night Hawk! *Tongue)

I'm grateful for your excellent description of the protocol for how you, and probably everyone else, can delete their own post(s). *Smile But that method does not appear to be applicable to me or my accidental post (which I then edited to say what it does now - maybe that was the reason behind your "???????" question - if so, NO, what I have written was not my intended post, I assure you!) Unfortunately, now there is my first post, made by mistake, your courteous reply, and now this one that are completely off-topic because of whatever it is that is preventing me from deleting my post!

And, yes, that was what I immediately tried to do after I initially realized that there was a #8 to the right of what I was expecting to be a preview - I had pressed the [Go Advanced] button, and that's when it posted what I had originally started writing! I know..."Human error", but I was quite careful about what button I pressed! I guess it doesn't really matter, unless other people notice the same thing occurring.

I even read the FAQ section on deleting posts *gasp* (Yes, I actually read the instructions!*Redface) and I came to the same conclusion of how it is to be done. I appreciate you taking the time to capture the image and make it seem ever so clear, and there is certainly no mistaking where X marks the spot!...I could be pretty incompetent and/or illiterate and your map should still allow me to delete my post! So, thanks on behalf of those demographics! Here's what ends up happening when I try to follow it from my-side of this monitor screen thing, right here in front of me!

*Confused *Huh *Sad So, what say you?

    Thanks, Night Hawk!*Smile

  2. The most likely reason for not being able to see this done despite being able to easily illustrate how easy it is would be you having just arrived on the forums here and will need a mod or admin to see that post taken care of. I assumed you had started to post a reply or ask a question but realized you were on the wrong thread but too late? It happens at times! You click the wrong link without realizing it at first and oops! *Eek

I pmed someone to have Post #8 taken care of for you! You won't have to worry about that any.*Smile

  3. I pass by the task bar directly since 20 years (right click) and the control panel one should removed. For the new settings, I do believe that the settings panel is already overloaded with switches. and there adding 4-5 more. I hope that the right click will remain, otherwise I won't complain because I like changes. I'm still waiting for a new network switch since 20 years...

    Edit: Oups! Did I say 20? No it's 22 = 3.1

Well there's one interesting item to notice about how the CP works now as compared to what was seen in the past versions.

When going to the CP>User accounts directly and clicking on the link there to make a change to the profile guess where I ended up? Back in the Start>Settings! I was simply setting up the system admin account at the time when running into that small surprise! Just note the highlighted areas to see that one.

Oh! I didn't even think about tablets or windows phones for that matter(Do they have taskbars?
I ask, as I have never even had one, in my hand.).

But for desktop or laptop users, this change still makes no difference, if you follow what I mean. Like anything Windows, there's ten ways of doing the same thing*Wink

The best place is to have them all located together, like it is/was with the control panel. The move for me from the control panel to the settings isn't a big deal.

    Edit..
After looking around a bit I found where the new taskbar settings are..
Not a big deal really, IMO.. just a consolidation.

    Screen shot for reference purposes:

For the longest time excluding the right click on taskbar option where you would go to see any changes made besides an elevated command prompt now referred to as the "Command prompt(admin)" found where by the way? In another right click menu found when right clicking on the Start button! On 8 and 8.1 that would be the lower left hand corner not even seeing a Start button for a Start menu.

So you see the right click options are not going away any time soon! The CP on the other hand still clings heavily to the Legacy to XP structure as far as the gui in use there while the new form of Windows has to take into account all hardware platforms not just the desktop. laptop arena! MS is simply revitalizing things for the present consumer market not wanting to continue basing everything off of the 90s structure as far as the main gui is concerned. It took 15yrs, to get this far so don't be in rush to knock it down any! MS can be real ssssslowwwww at times for getting things done the right way! *Thumbs*What*Roflmao2

  9. Just for info

Win 10 tablets have the same taskbar as desktops, it was a change it 10 to have this permanently on screen (though it can be hidden the same as desktops/laptops
Not very easy with touch on an 8" screen

Win 10 on phones does not have the taskbar

  11. Everything hasn't been moved over yet. It's not a substitute for the control panel, they each have different functionality, at the moment. There is some duplication/overlap but eventually everything that you can do in the control panel will be moved to Settings. Then control panel will be no more. Things are in transition at the moment.

  15. How is it easier to find things in the new settings app?

I find using settings or CP about the same, only difference is the look of them, though I think CP looks better and more suited for desktop machines
