Windows 10: Microsoft Office 2010 updates make PC running slowly

Hello everyone,


from some time I noticed that some particular updates are making my PC running more slowly, especially during the loading of a 3d model. Basically, these updates seem to get worse the graphic performances of my PC.
If someone knows if this is a common problem and if there are solutions to this annoying issue it would be awesome.

As you can see, these are Microsoft Office updates that seem to have nothing to do with graphic performances, but here we are.

• Did you have Microsoft Office 2010 starter installed on your computer in the past?

Mostly OEM computers come with MS office starter pack preinstalled, if you had MS office installed on the computer in the past I would suggest you to follow the steps under the section

Which versions of Microsoft Office work on Windows 10?

The following versions of Microsoft Office with the latest Service Packs have been confirmed to be compatible with Windows 10:

• Office 2016 Preview
• Office 2013/Office 365
• Office 2010 with exception Office Starter 2010
• Office 2007

Older versions of Office such as Office 2003 and Office XP are not certified compatible with Windows 10 but might work using compatibility mode.

Please be aware that Office Starter 2010 is not supported. You will be prompted to remove it before the upgrade starts.

 

No Office 2010 Updates Since June?

I believe Office 2010 updates have been broken via Windows Update on two PC following upgrading them to v1803 in July. I've now removed and reinstalled Office 2010 as follows which worked and found all the missing updates.

1. Uninstalled Office 2010 completely using the MS Office removal tool o15-ctrremove.diagcab
2. Installed and activated Office 2010 from my original installation file
3. Installed Office Service Pack 2 officesp2010-kb2687455-fullfile-x86-en-us.exe
4. Searched and updated Office 2010 via Windows Update. This found and installed c. 50 updates since Service Pack 2.
