    Hi for now! Microsoft Office Autocorrect, request help? :D

    I never had this problem. Only since today and I'm half freaking out because I can't find an answer anywhere.

    Whenever I write theirs, theirs, theirs or theirs, this program changes it to these words - even for the program unknown and marked as wrong -: ichren, ichnen, ichres or ichre.

    I'm freaking out right now, because it's really getting on my nerves and I can hardly get into a writing flow, because I keep changing it. I delete it, write it again and it comes back! ARGH!

    Anybody got any advice on how I can fight this?

    Autocorrect in Win10... basically non-existent(?)

    In this case, we suggest following the steps below to work around the issue:

    • On the Cortana search box, type Typing Settings and press
      Enter.
    • Turn off Autocorrect misspelled words and Highlight misspelled words.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Do step 1 and 2 but this time turn on Autocorrect misspelled words
      and Highlight misspelled words.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Check if the issue still exist.

    How to permanently use straight instead of smart quotes in Microsoft Office for Windows 10?

    Every time I change the settings in Microsoft office to use straight instead of smart quotes, it will reset itself back to smart quotes after a few days or weeks. I'm not sure what the trigger is to reset itself; restarting Microsoft Office doesn't seem to do it. I rarely restart the computer, perhaps that is it, or something else.

    I use the following steps to turn off smart quotes:

    1. Go to File>Options>Mail>Spelling and Autocorrect>Autocorrect Options
    2. In the AutoFormat as you Type tab, I uncheck "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes".
    3. In the AutoFormat tab, I uncheck "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes".

    How do I prevent Microsoft office from resetting these settings?
