Windows 10: Microsoft office issues on dual booting windows with linux

I partitioned my laptop and added ubuntu next to my existing windows. Then onwards, I have always encountered an error when trying to open Microsoft office products and the file closes soon after it gets opened. The error occurs on windows only, and I had backed up the same files, and they work fine on ubuntu.

Office is a reason for business to stay with windows, so until the linux user base is large enough to compensate for loss of windows sales, it will stay windows only.

The reason they make it for OSX is because OSX is not a threat, it is a propriety OS on propriety hardware, the users are not/were not going to use windows in the first place. Now with bootcamp, Microsoft may reconsider its OSX Office releases since the users now have the option of dual booting windows.

If that restores Windows 10, use EasyBCD to add an entry for Linux mint:

dual booting Windows and Linux

I was wondering if theres a way when dual booting Windows 7 and Linux Mint, to have it boot Windows by default and possibly not show the GRUB menu, and if I press a certain key, have it boot linux instead?

Is this even possible?
