Does No Deferred Updates Mean No Deferred Reboot?

Is this officially confirmed for the Home version? The last person that told me this elsewhere turned out to be basing it on running the tech preview, which I know from using it myself to effectively be Windows 10 Pro.

Hi Leigh. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

If you want to express your opinion on this to Microsoft use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They will not even see it here. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help others
    with your problems.

Did you try installing the program in Compatibility Mode?

Well, that makes me even less enthusiastic than ever about adopting Win 10 as my main everyday OS. Looking very much at this stage as if Win 8.1 is destined to become my 'Windows XP'... *cry *Sad

  7. Well Wenda, you won't be all alone....... Because I and a good share of the world's PC users, will be right there with you.

I had planned on just using XP-Pro-SP3 till forever, but then, I had to build a new PC with a really great motherboard that I found won't support XP. Every attempt to install XP to it results in a BSOD. So I've adopted Windows 8.1, Pro as my Operating System of the day. With the Classic Shell and a few tweaks, it's every bit as user friendly as XP.

The early versions of Windows 10, weren't too bad, but they just keep taking away things that I've grown accustomed to.
I'll continue to test Windows 10 till it's formal release, then its history.

    *Cool

If MS goes the subscription route, I will go back to using Linux. I just wish that they will release a new build soon.

Microsoft wants to do, what Apple does with OSX.

Btw, I dont think there will be a subscription model.

Updates and patches fore the core system will remain free.

The question is, "In the future when the want to add other capabilities, will the be Add Features to Windows 10?", which wouldn't be so bad for people who don't want or need a new product an the resulting bulk.

An example is Microsoft puts DVR capability in XBOX then decides "Hey wouldn't it be cool to offer this to the Windows 10 users!". I have a SAGEM DVR(4 "Heads") and don't need one on my PC. It would also probably cost something because of CODEC licensing too.

They already had DVR on W8.1 and are removing it on W10 and I am not Happy.

It's just, I have always preferred component systems to all in one(when it comes to media like stereo's TV's and such), because if one craps the bed, I can always use the rest(unless it's my amp). Plus a separate DVR is more secure as running through your PC. This is cable and SAT mind you, I don't use the internet for TV, so for people who do, I can understand this bitter pill, specially the ones who had to pay and upgrade to 8.1 pro just so the can turn around and pay for WMC. That's just not fair.

You don't need WMC for internet TV you need it for over the Air TV and for cable card without having to rent a box from the cable company.
