Microsoft Photos app for Windows 10 gets a new feature

Microsoft’s image search is a breeze in Edge web browsers. In old or new Edge, you have to right-click on any image to find similar images on the web through Bing. But what when you’re on desktop and want to do a reverse image search? Microsoft Photos app can help you do that.

Microsoft is bringing web image search feature to Photos app with the latest update on Windows 10. In this update, the Photos app has gained Bing’s Search for similar images functionality.

To use the similar search feature, you will have to right-click on an opened photo and click on ‘Search for similar images in Bing’. You may need to agree to allow Microsoft to process the image online, so the algorithm can lookup for similar results on the web.

Once you grant the permission, Microsoft’s secure cloud technology will send the image to Bing and similar images result page will open in your default browser.

This feature could be useful in various scenarios. For example, if you have saved a low-quality wallpaper, you can use this feature to find high-quality wallpapers or similar images. It could also help you find similar arts for your presentation.

This change is rolling out all users including the Insiders and the general public.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Microsoft Photos app for Windows 10 gets a new feature

New features and improvements coming to Windows 10

You've gotta be kiddin' me. There must be some way to disable this "Get the App" notification or else I'm staying away from Windows 10 for good. Total nonsense. This feature won't be available to Enterprise users, will it?
