    Microsoft Provides Very Poor Support


    A few days ago, I called to report that my computer was no longer going to Sleep Mode seemingly after the last Windows update and two intermittent problems that were reported to a 3rd level Windows Support person before but not resolved. I was told that I need to make sure my motherboard drivers and Bios was up to date and then run a Windows file in a virtual DVD he had downloaded. I called back again because he neglected to say what type of Windows reinstall this was---this is very important because I wanted to keep all of my files and settings. The Support person couldn't tell for sure but thought I would keep my files. This wasn't too assuring because he didn't know for sure it sounded like and the previous Support person hadn't documented this. So this took a rather long time to find out.


    I updated the motherboard files I needed to and then tried to find the file the first Support person had saved on my computer but could not because it has disappeared without my intervention. I called Microsoft because the virtual DVD file had disappeared and I did NOT delete it. I was told that the hold time was 15 to 30 minutes. At 33 minutes, a man finally answered, we talked briefly, and I was about to give him my case number (1484166536) and then I was disconnected! (Interestingly, after I pasted the case number, the text is smaller and Microsoft has not provided a way to make it match the original text size.)


    So I was needing to do a restore and the file I am supposed to use is gone and I was disconnected from Support and they still have not called back. I do not want to call again and wait on hold for more than 1/2 hour again! It has taken additional time just to write this and doing so still leaves me with the issues unresolved. I have had many other bad experiences with Microsoft Support.


    How can my Windows 10 issues be resolved without further delay?

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    I checked gigabyte's site on my GA-M57 and it didn't say anything about b3 stepping update, but all of the x3 chips are b3 steppings, so just use the x3 support bios if available.

    Microsoft Edge TLS Security


    After trying everything (not a lot of steps) listed in the Microsoft Edge support site, I did a wider search and found this very simple youtube video that fixed it immediately:

    For those who prefer not to click links the steps are simple:

    1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button

    2. Type internet options

    3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list

    4. Click on the advanced tab

    5. Scroll down to the security section

    6. Make sure the following are all clicked:
    Use SSL 3.0
    Use TLS 1.0
    Use TLS 1.1
    Use TLS 1.2

    7. Click apply

    8. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

    Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.
