    You could use an open source office suite like
    Libre Office     which is streets ahead of Microsoft Works..

    Upgrading to Office 2016 and resulting windows installer loop on certain programs and browsers

    Microsoft Works is a kind of Office suite which have lesser features than Microsoft Office. If you are not going to use it you can go ahead and uninstall it, then install Office for Student.
