Windows 10: Microsoft sculpt comfort dongle prevent windows 10 from turning the screen off

For a while now I have a problem that my monitor won't turn off when I leave my computer for a long time.

I look online for this issue but it got me only so far.

I set my screen off timer a the windows 10 power management for the wanted time,

but when time come the screen turn of and then few seconds later turn back on.

I read that it might be on of my USB devices so I checked them up,

I discovered that it happens only when my Microsoft sculpt comfort keyboard and mouse set dongle is connected.

I even tried to take the batteries from the keyboard and the mouse in case there is a pressed button but it didn't help.
I checked and all the drivers for the keyboard, mouse and the dongle, they are all updated.
I even checked off the option for them to wake my PC without any help.


Have anyone got a clue for solving that problem?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated drivers, try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to uninstall the mouse drivers.

• Right click on Windows key,
  select Device Manager.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right click on each of the drivers and click on
  Uninstall.

Step 2: Manually install the mouse drivers from the link below.

Microsoft Bluetooth Sculpt Comfort mouse Windows 10

I understand the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

I suggest you to install the Sculpt comfort mouse drivers in Compatibility Mode and check if it helps.

Please refer the below link to install the drivers in compatibility mode,

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode.

• Download the driver from the website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the
  Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.

Please note that Microsoft sculpt Comfort Mouse has inbuilt Bluetooth and does not require a dongle. Just press and hold the Bluetooth key to turn it on.





You will need to download and install the
Software & Drivers for your Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse. After which, you can follow the steps below to add the mouse to your Laptop:

1. Open Windows Settings (Windows key + I).
   
2. Then click on Devices.
   
3. Then click on Bluetooth & other devices.
   
4. Then click on Add Bluetooth & other devices and add the mouse.
   

If you want a Bluetooth dongle for your laptop, then you will need to check on third party websites or in local stores. Alternatively you can also check with our supplement parts team, if they can help you. You can reach them at:
