Windows 10: Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard USB Device Descriptor Request Failed

Lenovo Y740 on Windows 10.


My friend gave me a Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard second hand. When plugging in the wireless USB receiver to any USB port, it makes the connection noise but it will pop up and say device not recognized.


I checked device manager and under the USB section, I see that the USB receiver is labeled as "Unknown USB Device Device Disruptor Request Failed". Ive downloaded the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center app but it is unable to detect my device.


Any way to get this fixed or is the USB receiver broken?

Maybe it's time to step back from the current efforts, and start over. I suggest you read over this excellent tutorial and try all of its steps: [Solved] Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) for Windows 10 - Driver Easy. The one that may provide you with some easy relief is the one where you uninstall the device whose descriptor is failing, reboot, and see what happens when device enumeration recurs during boot-up. If you're lucky, it will fix itself.

my bios is and custom unlocked bios (latest version) (thanks to Bios Mods -The Best BIOS Update and Modification Source ) because of lenovo hardware whitlist maybe thats causing the problem???

 

Device Descriptor request failed

I am trying to add a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop to my PC and receiving this warning message " Device Descriptor Request Failed"

The USB Transceiver is not being recognised and shows an error. I have run the Troubleshooter and that can't identify the problem. All the latest Drivers are installed but when I go to Device Manager and check the list it shows there with a yellow warning
triangle. When I dig deeper it shows an error code 43.

Microsoft Support told me to run System Restore, which I have done but the result is the same.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
