    Microsoft Security Essentials Definitions update


    Hi!
    I've been trying to make MSE work on windows 7 sp1 but it pops up an error. I have tried resolving this with windows advisors and advocates but it didnt work out.
    It used to work before but seems to be a server issue. How to make it work?

    Windows 10 Windows Defender versus Microsoft Security Essentials

    Hi Bryan,

    Microsoft Security Essentials was upgraded to Windows defender and it was a default security software from Windows 8. You cannot have both as they are one.

    Since you get this annoying popup at the startup i suggest you to disable any Microsoft Security Essentials entries in Startup tab.

    • Open the Task manager. by pressing Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
    • click on Startup tab
    • Right click on Microsoft Security Essentials entry and click on Disable.

    Restart the computer and check if that helps.

    Microsoft security essentials update KB2310138 (definition 1.273.559.0)

    Hi,

    On 12th Jul 2018 "microsoft security essentials update KB2310138 (definition 1.273.559.0)" this update run on my 2008 R 2 Enterprise server and after that day we are geeting below error message while i.e. our Oracle 10G services are not starting. Can you
    please help me to fix this issue? Please find below screen shoot.
