  1. Microsoft Store 0x80070005 non-default storage location

    Hi.

I tried to install a game from Microsoft store in a location other than the default C drive since the size of game is huge. However, I always encountered the error of 0x80070005 and the game won't start to download. Once it did start to download, however, when I resumed downloading after pausing for a while, it failed again with the same error message. I also tried to install other apps with smaller size in a location other than C drive, returning the same error. If installed a app in C drive, everything went well.

Please help me solve this problem. Thanks.

BTW, the troubleshooting couldn't find any problem.

    :)

  2. Changing the default storage designation for the Microsoft Windows Store and various apps.

    Hi Isaac,

The default storage location for the Windows store and apps is in system location where Windows is stored (This PC-> C drive), if you want to change the default location of the apps then I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the settings
    and check if it helps.

    • Open Settings and click on the System icon.
    • Click on Storage on the left side, on the right side under
Save locations, select the drive to where you want your
      documents
      , music, pictures, and/or
      videos
to be saved to by default.
    • Click/tap on Apply.

The above settings option is available only from the Windows version (10586), I suggest you to check in which version of Windows build in installed on your computer.

Please get back to us with an update on this issue, we will be happy to assist you further.

    Thank you

Windows store Cant change default location

Im trying to download games from the Windows Store/Xbox App but cant install them onto my games hard drive because its not listed in the drop down menu or any other menu choices in the storage settings. The drive works and is listed in "This PC" and in Disk Management.
I have an SSD installed specifically for games and want to install the games onto it. Here is a screenshot with the games drive (G) not listed.

  4. Microsoft Store 0x80070005 non-default storage location

Couldn't Set Default Save Location 0x80070005

Hello, I would like to set the default save location for Store apps to another drive (GMicrosoft Store 0x80070005 non-default storage location :). When I go into Storage in Settings, I get the "Couldn't Set Default Save Location 0x80070005" error. I would like to install Forza 7 on a different hard drive because
it's 93GB and my SSD is already getting full. Is there a way to do so? If I try to install Forza 7 from the Store, I have a dropdown menu of all the drives available and when I choose the drive I want (GMicrosoft Store 0x80070005 non-default storage location :) and click "Install", nothing happens - I can just
keep on clicking "Install" infinitely and no download starts or anything. If I choose my C: drive, it downloads just fine. Any help will be greatly appreciated because I've had this issue for months now with different games.
