Windows 10: Microsoft Store/apps will not open.

Made the mistake of switching to Windows and have had nothing but problems. Recently purchased a Surface Pro 6 before I go abroad for a year in hopes that this would be good for traveling...current issue is as follows..


Microsoft Store will not open and neither will any of the pre-loaded apps from Microsoft. They appear to open and then close immediately. Also, updates will not download and the newest windows 10 update continues to freeze. I have tried a couple fixes I found on the forums but still nothing so this is my last attempt. Any help is appreciated.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store
