  1. Microsoft Store - Is it real or some mythical cyber entity?

I don't generally go on the store; because frankly, I value my time and the few times I've tried using it in the past was a complete waste of it.

However, my email and MS account is connected to my wife's surface and as she wanted to buy an app on the store, I was compelled to try to login and purchase the software...

So two years after my first bunch of store experiences, I can state that the 2019 store is just as inept as before. After multiple login attempts where it simply says "Oops... something went wrong with our service, Pl,ease try again later..." (or something like that), I was finally able to login and attempt to purchase something.

Next, I get a similar message while authenticating my credit card on her surface, (which was already on file from before). After the second attempt, I handed the surface back to my wife and said "sorry - try it again later."

A few minutes later I get an email message on my desktop that says a sale went through the store - WHAT??? There was NO indication that a transaction went through at all - on each attempt... now I have to worry that they both went through. Fortunately its a $6 dollar app, so if I paid for 2 of them thats still infinitely better then spending hours sorting it out. Sad - but from my perspective, true.

BTW: In case one of those MS MVP's puts one of their canned responses here, don't bother: I'm not looking for help. That just means more waste of my time.

I'm doing this as a public service and as a small indulgence rant; IMHO, deserved for my frustration with MS.

    :)
