Windows 10: Microsoft Store not opening (and other apps)

The Microsoft store and other windows app (sticky notes, feedback hub etc) are "greyed out" and not opening. Nothing happens when you click on them, no error whatsoever (also nothing in event viewer).

I've seen multiple similar cases on the internet but they more or less all come back to this command:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Which fixes exactly nothing.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store
