Windows 10: Microsoft Store prompts in the notification area for system applications that are not...

Can I know why this pops up in the notification area from time to time?I was used to it rarely on start-up moments but this last time it occured while system had completed half a day's running.I do make note that this may be relevant to existing issues in my device?

Startup and Notification area

R]I ran this batch file, but it did not help (which I understand, because Task Manager > Processes does NOT show WinDates).

I am back to the conclusion that Win 10 can run WinDates manually, but not automatically at startup (via link). If I double-click on the link C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\WinDates.lnk, WinDates opens fine.

My next step will be to run a scan of system files to see if something is corrupt. However, any other suggestions are welcome.

 

Notification area (system tray) icons missing, Reset did not work

With regard to your query about the system tray, we suggest that you follow the steps below and see if it helps.

• Right-click on an empty space in your desktop taskbar and select Properties.
• In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window, find the selection labeled
  Notification Area and click on Customize.
• Click on Turn system icons on or off.
• If you'd like to always show all icons, turn the slider window to On.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

  After upgrading to Windows 10 have you installed all pending updates from Windows Update?

  Do you experience this issue in a Local Account or Microsoft Account on the computer?
  

To resolve this issue let us try the following steps:



Follow these steps to run an SFC Scan and check if the issue resolves using the SFC /SCANNOW method:

• 
  Press the Windows button +
  X on your keyboard, a mini dialogue box will appear.
  
• 
  Choose Command Prompt (Admin). You must run the command prompt in Administrator level.
  
• 
  On the command prompt type sfc /scannow and hit enter.
  
• 
  If errors where found, try to fix it using
  DISM.
  
• 
  On the same command prompt window type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  
• 
  After the repair is complete, restart your computer and check if the system icons issue resolves in the notification area and the notification area displays all the icons normally.
