why has Microsoft stopped releasing halo series for Windows?

Gears of War that released in Windows Store was a disaster. It shows how little Microsoft cares about Windows gaming. To add insult to injury, they're making the same mistake as they did with Halo 2: locking it to Windows 10's (Vista) Windows Store (Games for Windows Live). They want their platform (Windows 10 + Windows Store/Windows Vista + GFWL) to succeed over the game (Gears of War/Halo 2). By not going to where the customers are (GOG, Steam, Amazon, etc.) they're guarenteeing the title will fall flat on its face...nevermind the OS lock and required Windows Store purchase.

Sometimes, Microsoft looks like a genius; sometimes, they look the most foolish amongst fools. Windows, as a gaming platform, hasn't been a priority for Microsoft since the early 2000s.

They're selling it for $30 when it is going for $10 on Xbox One.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
