    Microsoft support agent gave me scam phone number


    I am trying to figure out what just happened. As someone who consider themselves very tech savy, I am not sure if this was a complex scam or what. I typically know how to navigate customer service calls and due to the nature of my job, have had to do this for many years. I accessed my Microsoft account genuine website domain and used live agent to request a call. Wait time was 48 minutes. I about 20-30 minutes later, I received a call from 1-425-635-2970. Upon research, this seems like a real number Microsoft uses, but a potential spoofed scam number as well. The rep I was connected to was p

    The number he gave you was not unique and as long as you did not allow them remote access, your computer is fine.

    It's a scam that has been going on for years. Microsoft never makes unsolicited phone calls.
