Windows 10: Microsoft Teams meetings for the classroom

Over the last few weeks, schools have been working tirelessly to enable distance learning for their students and faculty. Weâve heard directly from many of you about engaging students in lessons, encouraging student to student collaboration, and facilitating staff professional development all while remote and we are inspired. We also know these last few weeks have not been easy as uncertainty continues to grow worldwide and the need for our tools to be safe and reliable has never been greater. In all of this, we want to say thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas on how we can improve Microsoft Teams for distance learning, especially at such a critical time.

While we work on these improvements, we encourage you to explore the many ways you can use Teams today for online classes and meetings. We have created several resources to support you and your class during remote learning.

Google classroom is not working/accessible

Hi Reynalyn,

Try the steps listed below and let us know it goes:

Open Internet Explorer and click on ‘Tools’
menu.

Click on ‘Internet Option’ and choose
‘Advanced’ tab.

Uncheck ‘Use TLS 1.1’ and ‘Use TLS 1.2’.

Restart Internet Explorer and check.

Microsoft Whiteboard in Teams Meetings integration

Microsoft Whiteboard continues to evolve rapidly. This month we are introducing Whiteboard integration into Teams meetings and two intelligent inking features. Whether you choose to participate from the meeting room or remotely, Microsoft Whiteboard in Teams Meetings (commercial preview) empowers meeting attendees from the same tenant to participate in the conversation, regardless of the device used. For quick and easy collaboration, the board is automatically shared with all meeting attendees. To enable Whiteboard in a Teams meeting, please turn on the Whiteboard web preview here.

Ink grab, enables you to take a picture of your notes scribbled on a physical whiteboard and convert them into digital ink on the Whiteboard App. You don’t have to recreate your board from scratch and all of the information is captured. If you start an ad-hoc brainstorm session on the physical whiteboard, you can easily continue on the digital whiteboard and include remote collaborators in the conversation. Simply take a picture of the content and use ink grab to transform them into digital ink.

Bad handwriting? Don’t worry! Ink beautification increases the readability of quickly-jotted notes in the Whiteboard canvas, which analyzes handwriting and automatically replaces it with more legible strokes. This feature increases collaboration, learning and ideation by addressing common reasons users tell us they find it difficult to use pen or ink.

Together, these intelligent inking features reduce the friction associated with collaboration. With the magic wand, your collaborators will be able to easily collaborate with you on your inking creations. Ink grab and ink beautification are available in Win10 app, and ink beautification will roll out in the next iOS app update.
